If you have self-employed clients, remind them that their tax filing deadline for 2014 is Monday, June 15.

The CRA says if self-employed taxpayers have an outstanding balance for 2014, that balance had to have been paid on or before April 30, 2015. But, interest would not have been charged on those amounts during the period between April 30, 2015 and May 5, 2015.

A late-filing penalty on amounts owing will only apply to returns received after the June 15, 2015 deadline. Read more.
