FATCA puts Canadian citizens’ privacy in question and discriminates against citizens based on their ethnic origin, says columnist Tim Harper in the Toronto Star.

One in thirty Canadians is affected by FATCA, he reports. And the legislation was embedded in this spring’s budget implementation bill, meaning it didn’t get a dedicated Parliamentary debate.
