Alberta NDP Premier Rachel Notley’s tax plan, which would make new personal tax brackets and raise corporate rates, won’t be enough to balance the budget, reports Maclean’s.

The province’s projected deficit for 2015- 2016 is an estimated $5 billion. The NDP say they’ll use the tax increases to finance more spending and balance the budget by 2018-2019. Author Kevin Milligan crunches the numbers to explain what this means for Albertans’ taxes.
