RBC Wealth Management is partnering with online estate planning platform Epilogue Wills to offer basic estate planning to Canadians, the bank announced on Tuesday.

The collaboration is part of RBC’s focus to provide individuals and families with accessible estate planning solutions, a release said.

“We really see the number of Canadians without a will, especially those under the age of 35, as one of the many areas where we can help them plan for and protect their future,” said Rick Lowes, vice-president, personal savings and investments strategy with RBC, in the release.

Online wills can be done remotely and take about 20 minutes using Epilogue, the release said. Clients will have access to resources from RBC Royal Trust to learn about relevant estate planning topics.

RBC also announced that RBC Ampli, a free cash-back app, is planning to offer the will service to its users.

“As tax and estate planning lawyers, we know how important it is for Canadians to have an up-to-date will,” said Daniel Goldgut, co-founder and CEO of Epilogue Wills, in the release.

“We also know that the cost and time involved have traditionally been barriers to people completing their wills. Collaborating with RBC gives us the opportunity to help millions of Canadians learn more about estate planning, plan for the future and create the legacy they want.”
