Wealth management firm Grayhawk Investment Strategies has joined forces with Toronto-based Wealthsimple to use the robo-advisor’s platform.

Grayhawk, which serves 30 high net worth families from its offices in Calgary and Toronto, will use the Wealthsimple for Advisors platform for dealer and advisory services, the firms said Thursday in a release.

Wealthsimple will offer Grayhawk’s investment strategies to advisors using the platform who serve high net worth clients.

The Wealthsimple for Advisors platform automates processes such as  account opening, compliance and some ongoing administration, the release said, and offers clients easier access to their portfolios.

“We believe by partnering with Wealthsimple, we can deliver a digital experience to our families that will allow for a much better online experience, resulting in greater access and connection to the next generation as they clearly understand that space very well,” said Grayhawk president and CEO Michael Kaumeyer in a statement.

Wealthsimple for Advisors CEO J-F Courville said the partnership showed that technology “matters for someone with a portfolio of $50 million as much as it does for someone with a portfolio of $50,000.”
