Almost half of the professionals surveyed (46%) say they typically spend their lunch breaks alone, with only 17% finding time to workout. This is contrary to what most respondents actually want, however, since 48% say they would like to either exercise or enjoy meals with coworkers. Some respondents take the time to surf the Internet (36%) or run errands (34%). But more workers should consider stepping away from their desks, says Dianne Hunnam-Jones, Canadian president of Accountemps. “Taking any type of break allows [people] to connect with colleagues, explore business insights and exchange ideas across departments.
