Specifically, October is investor education month, an initiative of the Canadian Securities Administrators. And world investor week, promoted by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), runs from Oct. 4 to Oct. 10. As part of the activities, the Ontario Securities Commission will host a Twitter chat about online investment scams and a telephone townhall on investing basics and fraud, both on Oct. 6. It will also host nine virtual events throughout the month with tips tailored to seniors and community groups. The Autorité des marchés financiers will host virtual activities, including webinars for seniors and youth, and will run a social media awareness campaign about risks related to cryptoassets.
