Ontario mulls a public pension plan

Canada’s largest province is thinking about becoming the first to create its own pension plan, reports the Globe and Mail.

The Globe cites sources inside government who say Finance Minister Charles Sousa will hint in the Fall Economic Statement that if the federal government doesn’t improve the Canada Pension Plan, the province will pursue its own plan.

Provincial governments will meet with the federal government in December to talk about pensions.
