New website helps people find advisors

Advocis has launched a Find an Advisor website to help consumers find an advisor who meets their needs.

Through OurAdvisor.ca, consumers can search for an Advocis member in their area based on individual financial needs, designations and whether they are seeking advice for themselves or for their business. Advocis members who are financial advisors work closely with consumers to help them meet their financial goals.

Furthermore, the site indicates whether the Advocis member is in good standing with the association, meaning the advisor follows a code of professional conduct, completes 30 hours of professional development annually, and upholds a high best practice standard.

OurAdvisor.ca also contains helpful resources for the public. Information about topics such as retirement planning, tax and estate planning, insurance planning, and how to find the right advisor aim to educate consumers on financial matters and what they need to know before hiring an advisor.
