Health Canada is taking a more hands-off approach to how medical marijuana producers are licensed, and how customers purchase the drug. At the same time, the federal government says it’s considering downgrading marijuana possession into a ticketing offense. It’s a move supported by Canada’s chiefs of police. Read: Marijuana company wants to grow on TSX With greater legal access to the drug, and increased permissiveness, smoking marijuana while at work could become as common as going outside for a cigarette break and a coffee. Employers wondering how to handle this new workplace dilemma should keep workers’ health and safety in mind, Profit reports.
