Only 31% of companies use gaming mechanics, or “gamification,” even though it has been shown to improve performance, engagement, and retention, the study says. However, a majority of companies (88%) do run contests and competitions to motivate employees. Further, 57% offer financial incentives and 78% offer trophies.
