Help your clients deal with Alzheimer’s

There are more than 200,000 with dementia in Ontario alone, reports CBC, and more than half of them will go temporarily missing.

Chances are, some of your clients are dealing with parents who have dementia or Alzheimer’s disease—or they may be grappling with those conditions themselves.

Here are some helpful suggestions, reported by CBC, to help their loved ones cope:

– Project Lifesaver has radio-emitting bracelets that track the wearer’s location;

– The Alzheimer’s Society’s Finding Your Way program registers people with Alzheimer’s or dementia and can provide police details and a photo of a missing person;

– Alarms can notify a caregiver when someone has gotten out of bed or opened a door.
