Canadians spending less on entertainment, recreation

People are spending less on entertainment and recreation, but they aren’t shrinking their grocery bills, reports Marketing magazine.

A survey by Mintel shows that 31% of people say they’ve spent more on groceries and food to eat at home in the past year. A further 56% say their spending hasn’t changed, while 12% say they’ve cut back, Marketing reports.

Compare that to the 32% of people surveyed who say they spent less on entertainment and leisure in the past year. And 27% of those surveyed spent less on vacations.
