8 ways to show your employees you appreciate them

That date may have sailed by without anyone in your office taking note, but you can easily show your employees you care with these year-round tips from Forbes.

Go for a coffee. Forbes suggests taking your direct reports out for a one-on-one break, and asking them about their career aspirations, what their goals are at work, and how you can help. They’ll appreciate your concern and understand that you care about more than their productivity.

Another strategy Forbes suggests is to give compliments on particular accomplishments. Rather than a general “good job,” a specific kudos shows you know what he or she has been working hard on, can see the difference she’s made, and why it’s important.
