Horizons Exchange Traded Funds and its affiliate BetaPro Management have announced a plan to consolidate the units of the Horizons BetaPro COMEX Gold Bullion Bear Plus ETF on a 1 to 4 basis.

The ETF allows investors to bet against a rising of gold price, a prospect that hasn’t paid off very well over the past decade or so.

The units of the ETF will be consolidated after the TSX has closed for trading on Friday, September 16, 2011. The ETF will begin trading on a consolidated basis on Monday, September 19, 2011.
