“Studies have shown that keeping investment costs low is a key component to improving portfolio performance,” says Howard Atkinson, CEO of Horizons ETFs.

He adds, “With some online brokerages now waiving commissions on HXT, you could potentially own $1,000 of HXT units for an all-in annual cost of approximately $0.56.”

HXT doesn’t make any taxable distributions, adds the company. The only taxes associated with it occur when an investor sells. HXT has generated about 1.40% in tax-savings since its inception in September of 2010.
