Bobby Eng is the asset manager’s new SVP and head of platform and institutional ETF distribution, and Ahmed Farooq has been promoted to SVP and head of retail ETF distribution, the firm said on Wednesday. He previously held senior roles with First Trust Portfolios Canada and BlackRock Asset Management. Farooq, who joined Franklin Templeton from BlackRock in 2017, was promoted from his position as vice-president, ETF business development. “Over the past four years since we launched our ETF business in Canada, we have grown our platform by launching a wide array of, including some unique, strategies,” said Duane Green, president and CEO of Franklin Templeton Canada, in a release. “We are now expanding our ETF team with the hire of Bobby to focus on the platform and institutional areas, and Ahmed, in his newly expanded role, will continue to develop the retail distribution channel, as we strive to meet the intricate needs of our clients.” Franklin Templeton launched new sustainable ETFs earlier this week.
