TSX releases trading stats

TMX Group recently released September 2016 trading statistics for its marketplaces. More than 12 billion stocks were traded in almost 20 million transactions, representing a value of over $126 billion. Total monthly transactions for the TSX alone are almost 7.5 billion stocks in over 17.6 million transactions, representing over $114 billion.

The Montreal Exchange (MX) set a new daily volume record on September 12, 2016, for the S&P/TSX 60 Index Standard Futures (SXF), of 190,810 contracts. A monthly volume record for the SXF was also reached in September 2016, with 908,029 contracts traded.
