Global oil conference kicks off

The World Heavy Oil Congress is kicking off in Edmonton this morning.

But, as CBC reports, organizers of the three-day conference expect 20% fewer attendees due to slumping oil prices and sentiment. The theme of the event is “Producing More With Less,” and CBC notes that oil producers, in the near term, are expected to focus on technology that’ll help cut production costs.
