Sun Life Health brings together the insurer’s group benefits and Lumino Health businesses to create a new platform to strengthen the insurer’s health offering, a release said on Wednesday. Lumino Health, a virtual care platform, provides clients with tools and resources to manage their health, and its search engine allows clients to find and connect with local paramedical providers, such as dentists and massage therapists. The search engine had been used more than 11 million times, the release said. “Our aim is to empower Canadians with the support they need to take action earlier, helping prevent and mitigate health risks,” said Jacques Goulet, president of Sun Life Canada, in the release. The new unit will be led by Dave Jones, who has been with Sun Life since 2003, most recently as senior vice-president of group benefits. “While everyone’s health journey is different, we all share the need for a health partner that can proactively support our physical and mental health,” Jones said in the release. “I am excited to bring together our group benefits and Lumino Health businesses.” He added, “Under Sun Life Health, we expect to add to these businesses in the coming year.” Staff The staff of Advisor.ca have been covering news for financial advisors since 1998.
