Generally speaking, compliance and regulation attract cautious personalities, not prone to flouting rules and regulations. And then there’s the porn-surfing SEC manager.

A regional supervisor of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is under investigation for using his SEC computer to surf the web for porn, according to a report from the Washington Times.

It wasn’t a one-off indiscretion — it appears that he attempted to look up porn more than 1,800 times in just 17 days. In fact, the problem appears to be a recurrent theme at the regulator, which has mentioned such staff offences in its last four semiannual reports to Congress.
