(December 10, 2004) Rogers Media is launching a new publication aimed at financial advisors. The first issue of Advisor’s Edge Report will be available January 19, 2005.

The new monthly publication joins several other properties in The ADVISOR Group offering focused coverage for the Canadian financial advisor community. These include Advisor’s Edge magazine, as well as the Advisor.ca website and daily e-mail bulletins.

Advisor’s Edge Report will complement Advisor’s Edge magazine, focusing on business building and planning issues for advisors, with dedicated sections on tax, insurance and investment trends. It will also put the daily news covered online by Advisor.ca in perspective, helping advisors sort through regulatory issues.

“We want to do advisor news and investment perspectives differently,” says managing editor Scot Blythe. “Our aim is not just to report what’s happening in the financial services industry, but also to turn that into something advisors can use, whether to build their practice, to increase their skills and knowledge or to pass that information onto clients.”

Regular contributors will include the content and editorial team of Morningstar Canada, the country’s leading source of independent research and analysis of investment funds.

“We are pleased that our distinctive brand of analyst coverage and authoritative commentary will be a regular feature of this exciting new publication,” says Scott Mackenzie, president and CEO of Morningstar Canada. “The Morningstar Advisor pages will focus on investment themes, specific funds and portfolio managers that we believe will be of keen interest to the advisor community.”

Advisor’s Edge Report will also feature regular frontline insights and advice from a number of well-known industry insiders, such as ultra-high-net-worth advisor Thane Stenner, insurance consultant Byren Innes and tax expert Jamie Golombek.

The ADVISOR Group includes Advisor’s Edge, Advisor’s Edge Report, Advisor.ca, Objectif Conseillers and the Advisor Forum and Forum des Conseillers conferences.
