Home Breadcrumb caret Industry News Breadcrumb caret Industry OSC seeks volunteers for small business advisory committee The committee will provide input on trends and policy impact on small firms By Staff | September 29, 2020 | Last updated on September 29, 2020 1 min read With a growing demand for competition and innovation, the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is looking for volunteers to serve on its policy advisory committee on small business issues. The OSC issued a call for small business executives, their advisors (such as lawyers, accountants and underwriters), investors and investor advocates, among others for its Small Business Advisory Committee. The committee provides the regulator with input on business practices and trends affecting small businesses in the public and private markets. It also provides feedback on the effectiveness of corporate finance policies and initiatives for small businesses. The committee, which is chaired by Jo-Anne Matear, manager of the OSC’s corporate finance branch, consists of up to 16 members who serve two-year renewable terms. Applications are due by Oct. 20.
