Top CEO for 2013 goes to E. Hunter Harrison, CEO of Canadian Pacific, says Morningstar Canada.
He’s had a positive impact on the company’s operations since taking over in June 2012. In the railway business since 1963, he started as a carman-oiler, Morningstar says.

He joined Illinois Central in 1989, and as CEO he helped turn around that company, increasing its profitability by more than 30 percentage points. When Canadian National Railway bought Illinois Central, he helped to modernize CNI too. He retired in 2009 but returned to the industry in 2012 to help turn CP around, says Morningstar.
He’s known as a hands-on CEO who conducts his own training sessions and is constantly working to position the company for future success.
