The self-regulatory organization announced that its district councils will be holding their annual general meetings (AGMs) by video conference, starting Sept. 9 through Sept. 17. At their AGMs, the various districts will elect the district council members for the 2020-2021 term. Separately, IIROC also reported that, as of July 31, it has received 145 applications for pandemic-related exemptions from 62 dealers — up from 125 exemption requests from 57 dealers, as of June 30. The SRO has granted a variety of hardship exemptions including relief from certain account supervision requirements, client verification requirements, signature rules, and late fee waivers.
