(November 20, 2002) “The future is purchased by the present,” said Samuel Johnson, whose words are a fitting theme for the upcoming Advisor Forum in Halifax from December 2-3. The outlook for the financial advisory business will feature prominently in the keynote presentations at the event.

Julie Littlechild is the president of the research firm Advisor Impact in Toronto and an expert in practice management. In a keynote presentation titled, “The future of the financial advisory practice”, Littlechild will talk about key trends within the financial advisory industry and also offer specific ideas for how advisors can improve the efficiency and profitability of their businesses.

Renowned advisor and author Nick Murray of New York will offer candid and frank reasons why he considers this to be a great time to be an advisor, despite market slumps and investor insecurities. It all depends on attitude. Murray believes that North America is entering a “golden age” of advice. (Click here to register for Advisor Forum Halifax.)

Guy Cabana, a Montreal-based communications consultant with Danec, rounds out the lineup of keynote speakers in Halifax. Cabana trains businesspeople in negotiation and communication, and his presentation will help advisors to understand and interpret non-verbal clues and improve their communication skills.

There will also be a presentation to honor David Morgan of CIBC Wood Gundy, Saint John/Moncton, N.B., winner of 2002 Advisor of the Year Award for the Atlantic region.

Advisor Forum and Advisor.ca are both properties of the ADVISOR Group of Rogers Media.
