(November 14, 2002) Financial advisors will get directions from tax expert Tim Cestnick on how to guide their clients to “tax freedom” at the Advisor Forum in Calgary from November 22-23.

Cestnick, managing director, Tax Smart Services with AIC Group of Funds, will offer what he calls an intellectual framework for paying less tax than ever before in a main stage presentation titled “The Tax Freedom Zone.” He believes there are fundamental ways of paying less tax and reaching the “tax freedom zone.” One way Cestnick recommends is to make changes to your tax return.

“Everyone should be filing what I call a perfect tax return,” says Cestnick. “Filing a perfect tax return just means you’re claiming all the deductions you’re entitled to, you’re claiming all the credits you’re entitled to and you’re claiming them in the right way and at the right time.”

The popular tax commentator and author will also talk about “the five pillars of tax planning” as he presents specific tax strategies that advisors can implement with their clients even before the end of the year.

The keynote speakers at Advisor Forum Calgary will be Mike Lipkin, president of Environics; Donald Rolfe, managing director of GómezCanada; and advisor coach Lloyd Williams.

There will also be a presentation to honour David Christianson of Winnipeg, winner of 2002 Advisor of the Year Award for the Prairies region.

Advisor Forum and Advisor.ca are both properties of The ADVISOR Group of Rogers Media.
