CSI launches online financial services job board

(April 29, 2003) With the Internet becoming the preferred choice for Canadian job seekers, the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) has introduced an online employment service specifically for the financial services industry.

The new Web site, called “Infocus,” is an attempt to bring financial firms and qualified candidates together, the CSI says.

“Our research shows a dramatic increase in the confidential use of the Internet for job searches by highly qualified candidates and for recruitment efforts by the companies seeking to hire them,” says the CSI’s Lee Anne Davies. “Infocus marries these two trends.”

The CSI says because the portal is exclusive to those working in the industry, job searches are easier and results are more readily achieved.

As well as a job board and career tips, the Infocus site (www.infocusmembership.com) includes business surveys and a monthly online magazine with articles on market trends and business-building.

The service has already attracted 4,000 members, the CSI says.
