May and June were busy months in the financial services industry, with a number of major advisor conferences grouped together in a short period of time. As a result, you may have been unable to attend all the events you wanted to. Don’t worry though, from Advocis to the IDA, Advisor.ca and Advisor’s Edge were there, and we’ve bundled together a package of our extensive conference coverage.

IFB: The insurance group held its spring summit in Toronto at the end of May, tackling a number of issues, including how to sell critical illness insurance. Click here for more on a presentation on CI, conducted by Empire Financial’s Rick Forchuk.

MORNINGSTAR: The fund research firm focused on strategies for the coming retirement boom at its fourth annual conference in Toronto. Click here to find out what York University associate professor of finance Moshe Milevsky had to say on the topic.

ADVISOR LIVE: For the second year, the ADVISOR Group staged a symposium for senior staff at managing general agents. Click here to find out what advisors want from their MGAs and here for the latest on what’s happening on the MGA technology front.

ADVOCIS: The country’s largest advisor association hosted its 100th annual conference in Victoria.
