Nearly one third of Canadians (31%) travel more now than they did five years ago, and that number will only increase, says a new American Express survey.

Overall, 85% of respondents say vacations are worthy investments, with 87% wanting to spend more on life experiences than on material possessions. Meanwhile, 89% would rather travel than focus on their careers.

When booking trips, the study notes nearly all Canadians (92%) find personal services and advice can’t be replaced by technology, especially when something goes wrong while travelling. Also, nearly three quarters (73%) would rather get travel recommendations in person than through online services.
