(November 15, 2007) National Bank Financial is calling on all institutional investors to support Little Giants Day on November 20, 2007.

Little Giants Day was established in May 2005 to assist Sri Lankan reconstruction efforts following the tsunami that swept the Indian Ocean in December 2004.

On November 20, the net commission from every institutional equity trade made by National Bank Financial will go to support Free the Children and “other charitable organizations dedicated to inspiring Canadian kids.” This year, the firm has set a target of $650,000.

IA Clarington expands wrap offering

(November 15, 2007) IA Clarington Investments has introduced a new series of units for its Distinction Portfolios, offering lower fees than existing series of the portfolios.

The management fees on the new M series range from 1.90% for the Distinction Prudent Portfolio to 2.20% for the Distinction Bold Portfolio. The M Series units require a minimum investment of $25,000 and include enhanced reporting.

At the same time, the company has introduced the Distinction Monthly Income Portfolio, with a targeted annual distribution option of either 6% or 8%. IA Clarington has also reduced fees on it’s A series units by an average of 17bps.

Laurentian offers cash for client update

(November 15, 2007) Laurentian Bank is taking a novel approach to ensuring client profiles are up to date, offering the chance to win $10,000 to those who update their information.

Aside from updating their profile, clients may enter the draw by sitting down with their Laurentian advisor and establishing a retirement projection.

The contest is open to all customers who update their investor profile or map out a retirement projection with an advisor at one of the bank’s branches before January 31, 2008.
