B2B Trust and Mackenzie Financial have inked a deal under which B2B Trust will offer preferred rates on investment loans to investors purchasing eligible Mackenzie funds.

“B2B Trust is thrilled to add a prestigious firm like Mackenzie Investments to our list of distribution alliances,” says François Desjardins, president and CEO of B2B Trust. “Teaming up with this high-caliber firm widens our distribution of investment loan programs and illustrates our commitment to advisors.”

Mackenzie Financial president David Feather hailed the agreement as giving Mackenzie investors greater flexibility and lower cost investment loans.

Laurentian Bank offers TFSA head start

Laurentian Bank is offering clients an early start on their 2010 TFSA investment, provided they are willing to lock their capital up for a while.

Until the end of the year, clients may invest in three options: a 29-month GIC, which can be re-invested as of January 1, 2010; a 47-month non-redeemable GIC; and a 6-month term deposit.

These investments will be deposited into a Laurentian Bank Tactical TFSA in January 2010, and the rates and remaining term will be renewed.

RBC Dexia director of FX trading

RBC Dexia Investor Services has appointed Steven Braithwaite as director of foreign exchange trading, leading up a global team of currency traders from the company’s London office.

“We are delighted that Steven is joining us as we add to the growth of our FX business by both product and geography,” said Morgan McDonnell, head of foreign exchange at RBC Dexia. He brings a wealth of experience to the position, not least in Asian markets where we continue to expand.”

Braithwaite joins RBC Dexia from Denmark’s Saxo Bank Capital Markets, where he was global head of foreign exchange trading.
