Apple to update voice dictation app

Apple may be releasing an offline version of voice dictation for iOS, reports http://tech2.in.com.

It adds the company’s voice-to-text feature would no longer rely on Web connections if they came up with this update. Read more.

The move will help further boost Apple’s app business, which Financial Times says has supported several “multimillion-dollar businesses [like] Rovio, maker of Angry Birds, and Instagram, the photo-sharing app.”

FT adds the popularity of the company’s app store is key right now, given the smartphone and tablet market has become so competitive. Further, it finds Apple’s recent revamp of its iOS system will determine whether it remains a top player. Read more.
