Advisor.ca is pleased to announce the appointment of Deanne Gage as editor of the website, following the February departure of Doug Watt. Readers will recognize Deanne from her previous role as editor of Advisor’s Edge magazine, a role she has held since 2005.

Deanne joined the Advisor Group in 1999 as associate editor, and her wealth of experience on the print side of the organization makes her the perfect choice to guide the overall direction of Advisor.ca.

“I am thrilled to be making the leap into online journalism,” she says. “The faster pace of the daily deadlines already reminds me of my newspaper days.”

Philip Porado has been appointed Deanne’s successor as editor of Advisor’s Edge magazine. Phil has been with the Advisor Group since 2004, and was most recently associate editor of the magazine. Phil will have his hands full, as he will continue in his role as editor of Advisor Group’s conferences.

“I look forward to continuing Deanne’s legacy of keeping in close touch with the advisor community and ensuring the magazine remains one that financial professionals can look to for knowledge about industry trends and tips for running their practices more effectively,” he says.

At the same time, Scot Blythe, editor of Advisor’s Edge Report, has been appointed senior group editor, a new role which reflects his knowledge and experience as the key editorial expert within the Advisor Group. Scot will retain his role as the editor of Advisor’s Edge Report.

“I look forward to the prospect of deepening and enriching our coverage of the news that matters to advisors,” Scot says.

Congratulations to all three on their well-deserved promotions.
