A time for reflection in the Talvest Town Hall

(November 29, 2002) The year 2002 was the Year of the Horse in the Chinese Lunar Calendar, but for investors and financial advisors it was another Year of the Bear.

The end of the year is always a time of reflection so Advisor.ca’s Talvest Town Hall wants to hear from advisors about their 2002 year in review. (Click here to add your comments.)

What were the big issues for Canadian advisors in 2002? Slumping markets? Managing nervous investors? Advocis? The MFDA? What will be the major issues for advisors in 2003?

“I am looking forward to the day when the commissions that I earn from securities can be paid to a corporation, rather than being forced to take it as personal income,” said Brad Brain, in a message to the “Free For All” forum.

The next Chinese New Year will usher in the year of the sheep, which doesn’t sound too encouraging. Those born in the Year of the Sheep are said to enjoy their material comforts, but tend to worry and complain.
