(December 9, 2003) Although only one individual from each of five regions in Canada could be officially crowned Advisor of the Year for 2003, five additional entrants were cited as honourable mentions by our judging panel for the excellence of their case study submissions. Click below to find out more about these five exceptional advisors:

Lyle Langlois is a 17-year veteran advisor with Cartier Partners in Vancouver, who is looking to grow his business to some $200 million in assets under management, while paring down the 700 or so households he calls clients.

John Lawson is an advisor with Assante Financial Management Ltd. in Abbotsford, B.C., where he helps small business owners and executives incorporate “life dreams” into their overall financial plans.

Derek Moran is with Macdonald, Shymko Consulting in Kelowna, B.C., where he works as a fee-only financial advisor with an ultimate aim to bring information to clients that enables them to make “more informed decisions and fewer mistakes.”

Conrad Toner is an advisor with Investors Group in Peterborough, Ontario, who thinks long-term and is committed to a holistic approach to financial planning that allows his clients to see the “big picture.”

Eric Warden is an advisor with Cartier Partners in Peterborough, Ontario, whose strong tax, estate planning and economic background lends itself to creating comprehensive financial plans primarily for business owners.
