U.S. growth beats expectations

The U.S. economy grew 3.1% in the third quarter, The Financial Times reports.

“The figure was higher than the 2.7% annualised growth previously estimated for the third quarter, and far more than the 1% growth rate that was originally calculated by the commerce department two months ago,” the report says.

Higher net exports, and consumer and government spending were contributing factors.
