Numbers the agency released August 8 indicated the Canadian jobs market grew by just 200 jobs last month, far below expectations. Read: Canadian job creation flatlines “This error impacts only the July 2014 estimates,” said Statistics Canada in a statement. StatsCan says the source of the error has been identified and it will release corrected estimates on August 15. Read: Housing starts climb Statistics Canada also said it “takes this matter very seriously and is immediately launching a review of the data verification processes in place.” A report on the results of the review will be published on the Statistics Canada website as soon as it is available.
