Starbucks to test mobile ordering this year

Starbucks has already pushed its business into the world of social media with Tweetable gift cards and other innovations.

Now, the coffee chain wants to let you order your latte online, reports Bloomberg.

Later this year it plans to test a mobile app that will let customers place their order at certain U.S. locations before getting to the store.

The company already processes 5 million mobile payments a week. It’s also looking at other mobile payment innovations, Bloomberg says.

Starting March 19, iPhone users will be able to tip their baristas with their phone, and shake it to pay.
