Read: Fed must stick with jobs mandate He also predicts that the U.S. unemployment rate will drop to 6% by the end of the year. Bullard also said he’s more optimistic in his predictions than some of his colleagues, who forecast later rises. In an earlier interview conducted in the last week of March, Bullard said the Federal Open Market Committee had not yet discussed when to begin raising the interest rate.
