Microsoft close to naming new CEO

The search to replace outgoing Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is drawing to a close, reports The Wall Street Journal.

Executive Satya Nadella is being touted as the leading candidate in the job search. He’s been with Microsoft for 22 years.

Also up for re-evaluation is the role co-founder Bill Gates, who is currently chairman, will play at the company, reports the Journal.

An announcement could come as early as next week.
