The pass rate was 74.7%, with 253 candidates writing the exam, FP Canada said in a release on Thursday. “Congratulations to the successful candidates who displayed exceptional focus to prepare for the May QAFP exam, despite the ongoing challenges arising from the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Tashia Batstone, president and CEO of FP Canada, in the release. The pass rate was similar to that from the inaugural QAFP exam in November 2020; however, only 110 candidates wrote the exam last fall. FP Canada continued to allow candidates to write the exam either in person or online — the latter being the choice of 90% of May’s exam writers. FP Canada will continue to offer the choice of in-person or online examination in 2021, the release said. In addition to passing the exam, candidates must complete at least one year of qualifying work experience, as well as adhere to professional standards, to earn QAFP certification. There are now more than 3,358 QAFP professionals in Canada, the release said. The next QAFP exam is on October 13.
