BlackBerry lays off 120 workers

As BlackBerry tries hard to regain market share and credibility in the smartphone sector it’s laying off about 120 workers based in Waterloo, Ontario, CBC reports.

The workers were in product development and wireless technology.

These layoffs are part of the firm’s plan to cut 40% of its workforce. It plans on going through with all the firings by May 2014, reports CBC.

The phone maker will announce its recent earnings March 28.
