Although Shakespeare isn’t well known for his keen financial prowess, many of his plays offer investment advice, reports CNNMoney.

Words like “rich,” “gold,” and “debt” appear hundreds of times in his works. Take this instance in his poem, “Venus and Adonis,”

“Foul-cankering rust the hidden treasure frets, But gold that’s put to use more gold begets.”

In other words, make sure your investment is earning interest.
