On the list is transparency. Klein argues that too much sunshine is limiting politicians’ ability to sit down in private and work out a deal without any grandstanding.

Another problem is gerrymandering, which is protecting politicians from the true will of voters, he writes.

Democrats and Republicans have never been more ideologically apart, he adds.
